The Sparrow and the Ocean
Once, on the shore of a mighty ocean, a mother sparrow built her nest and laid her eggs. She chose a quiet spot nestled among the dune grass, where she could warm them in the morning sun and whisper songs of the sky to the tiny lives growing inside. Each day, she tended to them with gentle care, dreaming of the moment they’d hatch and flutter beside her.
But one afternoon, while she was away searching for food, the mischievous waves crept in. They rose high and swept the nest away, pulling her precious eggs deep into the ocean bed.
Heartbroken and panicked, the sparrow returned to find nothing but wet sand. She cried out to the sea, begging it to return her babies. But the ocean, vast and indifferent, answered only with crashing waves. Her sorrow was like a whisper against its roar.
Furious and determined, the little sparrow made a decision. She would drain the ocean—one drop at a time.
With her tiny beak, she began. Mouthful by mouthful, she carried the salty water away. Again and again. Her wings grew tired. Her body ached. But her spirit didn’t waver. Her eggs were somewhere out there. And she was their mother.
A fox chuckled from the dunes. A flock of parrots jeered, “Foolish bird!” Even the breeze tugged at her wings as if mocking her effort. But the sparrow didn’t stop. Every drop was a promise. A prayer.
Days passed. And then, just when her beak was raw and her strength nearly gone, the sky dimmed. Not with storm clouds, but with mighty wings. Garuda, king of all birds, had heard of her relentless love. He soared down from the heavens, his eyes blazing with power and purpose.
With a voice that shook the tides, Garuda commanded the ocean: “Return what you have stolen.”
The sea, once smug, now trembled. The waves rolled back slowly, reverently, and at last—gently—her eggs were returned to the shore, safe and whole.
The mother sparrow, tears of joy in her eyes, carried her eggs to safety. She bowed to Garuda, whispering thanks not only for his power, but for hearing her heart.
🌊 The Moral
If you are truly passionate about your purpose, the universe listens. Resilience is the unwavering courage to keep going, even when the task seems impossible.
Like the sparrow, it is the steady, determined effort—one small step at a time—that moves mountains, shifts tides, and changes the course of your story.
